General Circulation Policies

  • BISU library identification card/library card for all patrons is a requirement upon checking out library material. It is non-transferable.
  • The user is primarily responsible for the prompt return of all library materials checked-out within the specified due date and for the payment of any fines incurred.
  • To ensure safe return, books should be returned to the unit from which they were borrowed.
  • Any item borrowed from the library which is not returned after the due date is subject to recalling. Such borrower shall be disallowed from borrowing within one week.
  • It is the responsibility of the borrower to notify the library staff immediately if library material is lost, stolen, or damaged.
  • If the book is damaged or defaced while it is charged out to a borrower, he/she will pay for the cost of repair. If the book is lost, the borrower will replace it with the same title, author and copyright, if available. The processing fee and any other accumulated fines should be paid.
  • Circulation books except general reference materials should not be reshelved. The library staff will return them to their proper locations.
